Heated towel rails are generally available in a choice of models, finishes and colours. Most models are available in either an epoxy or powder paint coating. Other options, depending on model, include chrome, gold-plate, and stainless steel. Heated towel rails are as a general rule available as independent electrically operated units or, for integration with central heating systems. In most cases these latter units may optionally also be fitted with electrical elements for use when the central heating system is switched off. Radiators or towel warmers that are fitted in bath and shower rooms are renowned for rusting and corrosion due to the extreme wet environment that they are located. Yet few manufacturers opt for materials that are resistant to corrosion for example stainless steel, due to the greater public demand for colour, shape and general aesthetics. 

Showering in the UK has grown enormously over the last decade, as most of us gain exposure to the showering experience abroad. Energy conservation has also played its part as more of us look for economical water heating and appliances that conserve water. The real growth however, is in the demand for power showers especially in the replacement market with consumers trading up to pump assisted and mains pressure showers. To accommodate the increased flow rates and high pressure shower jets, showers now need to be fitted with purpose designed shower cubicles or screens, the installation of which is critical to avoid leaks and damage to the homes structure. 

Whenever a shower is installed it is always advisable to fit an extractor fan to remove excessive water vapour and condensation. This is especially important in rooms where there are no windows or en-suites where the moisture-laden air may cause discomfort if not removed. 

There are few pleasures more satisfying than a long relaxing soak in the comfort and privacy of your own bathroom. Unfortunately those with special needs do not so easily enjoy these pleasures.
